This half day program combines a seminar with architect David Erdman of davidclovers and Mario Carpo, Professor in Architecture at Georgia Tech, around issues of design and production in architecture. David Erdman will consider further some of the topics raised in his lecture " Under Pressure” around the role of massing in contemporary design. Mario Carpo will consider the implications of the digital environments for issues of authorship in architecture, exploring the relationship between systems of notation, production and ownership.
David Erdman is founder of davidclovers and Assistant Professor in Design at Faculty of Architecture, University of Hong Kong.
Mario Carpo is Professor in Architecture at Georgia Tech, Vincent Scully Visiting Professor of Architectural History and author of The Alphabet and the Algorithm (MIT 2011).
